  3. The Process - students • Discussed with Y9 students - volunteers • Set up training days in collaboration with Reading University • Implemented 2 days training • Piloted observations with teacher volunteers • Expanded to PGCE/GTP students and School Self review programme • Now in Phase 2

The Process - Teachers • Discussed within the G & T working group • Invited collaboration with PGCE/GTP providers • Asked for teacher volunteers (G & T group) • Piloted observations with volunteers • Brought to the School Policy Development Group – discussed pilot outcomes • Introduced to Teacher Training Programme and School Self review programme

  5. Advantages • School self review more rigorous • Teacher training more focused • Enhances student voice • Improves student/teacher relationships • Teaching and Learning improved • Benefits to Students? (students to explain)

  6. Problems? • Politically controversial with some staff

  7. The future • We are now in Phase 2 • Inviting students to Curriculum planning projects? • Inviting students to building planning projects?
