L’impératif L’impératifis used for instructions, requests and suggestions. L’Impératif is formed with the tu, nous or vous form of the present tense of verbs. With –er verbs you drop the final ‘s’ in the tu form: Manges Mange Mangeons Mangez Écoute Écoutons Écoutez Regarde Regardons Regardez Remember: You don’t need the pronouns tu, nous or vous – just the verb itself. To make a negative, you simply put ne in front of the verb and pas after it. Nesortezpas.
