Of Finance and Vice-President • 1978: Found Unity Party of Nigeria • 1979 & 83 Contested and re-contested for Nigeria’s Presidency but was rigged out • 1982: Was Awarded GCFR by Late Alhaji Shehu Shagari (1st non-President) • Legacies: Education, infrastructure and human capital development • Died May 9th, 1987 (Aged 78, 64 days) • Source of death : Peacefully at home • After life: 32 years after his death his name still household name in Africa. Born April 10th, 1957,in Kano, (Richest Man in Africa, 64th in the world) • Parental Background : Well to do , With Grand- father the Richest Man in Africa. • 1965: Lost father ( aged 8) • 1965: Sanusi Dantata (his uncle) became his Guardian. • 1965: Sells Sweets to classmates (fund from pocket money) • 1977: Dangote Graduated from Egypt Univ. at 21 • 1977: Sanusi Dantata helped him to secure importation licenses from govt. • 1977: Borrowed N500,000 from uncle to start Importation business (rice and Sugar from Thailand and Brazil respectively). • 1977-2000: Dangote the Importer became number exporter of rice, sugar, Cement, fish, salt, flour etc • 1981: Found Dangote Group, (aged 24) • Dangote Group has over 30,000 direct employees. • Dangote Group is in about 10 countries • 2011: Awarded Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger by Former President Jonathan , 2nd most prominent National Honour in Nigeria • 2014: Lost $4.5 billion (recession) • 2019 February : Gained $5.8 billion in a day • 2018: Started building the biggest oil refinery in Africa with 12b dollars • Married : Four times (divorced), with 15 children • 2019: Worth $16.6 billion. • Legacy: Africa Industrial self-sufficiency (mission to stop import) • Age: 62 (April 10, 2019). Born in 1979 (A Determined Carrier- Kaya, Alabaru ) • Physically challenged • Parental Background : Poor of poorest • Father: Hunter • Mother: Fufu Seller • Birth Order: Last born • Olaoluwa attended Saints Paul Primary School Sagamu and graduated • He wished to become a newscaster but no one to sponsor him further • After graduation, he started hawking Fufu to support mum • He was known with his prowess to tell fables ( the Tortoise and wife) • Around 1994: He started fending for himself • 1995: Started selling Bamboo for TV antenna • 1996: Started working as Carrier at Awolowo Market • 1996: Bought A wheel Barrow • 1997: Increased his Wheel Barrows to four • 1998: Built a Room and Parlor house on fathers open land • 1998: Expressed his plan to buy a taxi and stop Carrier job • 1998: Died untimely, he was not sick • He was aged 19 • Legacies: Hard work, can-do and strength Olaoluwa
