DID YOU KNOW… From 1 January 2011 you must pass at least half of your course load (EFTS) over a set period to continue to be eligible for a Student Loan. Find out more at studylink.govt.nz
DID YOU KNOW… There is now a life-time limit of 7 EFTS for Student Loans. The life-time limit includes all study that you have had a Student Loan for from 1 January 2010.
EFTS stands for Equivalent Full-Time Student WHAT IS EFTS? It’s a measure of the workload involved in a particular course and is used to decide if a course is full-time or part-time. A year of full-time study is generally between 0.8 EFTS and 1.2 EFTS. If you’re unsure about the EFTS value of your course please check with your education provider.
DID YOU KNOW… From 1 January 2011 there will be a two year stand-down for students who are permanent residents or Australian citizens before they can receive a Student Loan. DID YOU KNOW… The Student Loan administration fee has been renamed the establishment fee. It will increase from $50 to $60 for study starting on or after 1 January 2011. This fee is charged every time you open a new Student Loan account.

NEED TO APPLY FOR UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT STUDENT HARDSHIP? From November 2010 you will be able to apply online at studylink.govt.nz When you apply for Unemployment Benefit Student Hardship you should also apply for your Student Allowance or Student Loan.
