Course Syllabus • Course description • 金融科技(Financial Technology, FinTech)是目前全球金融業與科技業的焦點，它所引發的破壞式創新，正挑戰既有金融服務的供給方式和消費行為。本課程由資工、財金、數學三方教授共同開設，將嘗試將數學方法與電腦計算應用於財金領域，期望同學再跨領域的訓練下，能夠一窺金融科技的殿堂之美 • Course objectives • 瞭解與 FinTech 相關的數學理論 • 技術分析、機器學習、密碼學等 • 實做與 FinTech 相關的程式設計 • 應用數學理論與程式設計來解決實際的 FinTech 議題

  8. Enrollment • Priority for extra enrollment • CSIE = Mathematics > Other departments • PhD > Master > Senior > Junior > Sophomore > Freshmen • Extra enrollment will be taken up to the classroom’s limit • Auditing is also welcome

Formats & Activities • Formats • Lecture (with possible flip learning) • Quiz (using Zuvio if possible) • Homework (handwritten & programming) • Term project • Others • Face recognition will be adopted • Registration: 5-second recording for each one (optional) • Test: Recording during the class

Grading Policy • Percentage assignment • Roger Jang: 25% • Sean Han: 25% • Jimmy Chen: 30% • Final project:20% • Final grades are based on scores and ranking. • The instructor reserve the rights to • Adjust percentage of each categories if necessary • Determine the way to combine scores and ranking

More about Grading • Grade statistics • Usually we have 25% of A+ and A • Grade computation • Raw score computation in double  rounding to integers  final letter grades • Please respect the results computed by computers! • We won’t change the final grades after sending them to the university, unless it is due to mistakes on our part
