  4. Remembering the miracles… • Miracles: • War • Flask of oil • Mitzvah: light menorah for 8 days • 7 days – oil lasted beyond 1 day • 1 day – victory of חשמונאים • (Reference in Torah- בהעלתך את הנרות)

  5. Who is obligated? • Both men and women are obligated in the מצוה of הדלקת הנרות • Either light separately or מוציא • Concept מצוות עשה שהזמן גרמא • Exception: אף הן היו באותו הנס • פורים & ד' כוסות on פסח • Children custom
