Founding Fathers • Alexander Hamilton, was in the Revolutionary War • John Adams, was the second president • Thomas Jefferson, signed the declaration of independence • John Jay was the president of congress
13 Colonies and Regions • New England, Massachusetts , Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island • Middle Colonies, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware • Southern Colonies, Maryland, Virginia, North/South Carolina, Georgia
What made each socioeconomic region unique • New England: was known for puritans, fishing and farming • Middle Colonies: were known for there amazing farming, economy and religion • Southern Colonies: were known for there hot summers, costal plains, and rice
Tools and Jobs • Three types of tools colonists used were: • Saw • Hammer • Compass • Three jobs were: • Farming • Blacksmith • Priest
Literature and Games Three types of literature are: • Classical • Peaceful • Poetry • Three types of games are: • Hope scotch • Tag • Flag tag
Family Life • Most houses were only one 1 story, timber frame brick houses. • Also most furnishing from colonial time, was wooden table, chairs, and table cloths
Clothing, Education and Food Most clothing was: • Gowns • Footwear • Linen vest Education was mostly • Music • Wildlife • Slavery • Most food was: • Peanut pie • Apple tansy • Ginger bread
