1. Absorbent recovery with stripping vapor Makeup absorbent In that case the absorbent to recycle enters a stripping column where it takes contact with the so-called stripping vapor. This can be a steam or any inert gas, on the right conditions to eliminate (strip) the pollutant from the absorbent. Once the absorbent is clean can be recycled to the absorption column. 2. Absorbent recovery using a reboiler stripper Makeup absorbent In that second case the absorbent to recycle enters a reboiled stripping column. In that case the stripping vapor is a vapor of the solvent itself used to heat the polluted solvent stream. Part of the recovered solvent is continuously recycled to the absorber.
