  19. HP2 $400 This is how long a human can go without water. Answer

  20. HP2 $600 This is the main pathway where water moves from a liquid back into the water cycle as atmospheric water vapor. Answer

  21. HP2 $800 How does ice protect aquatic animals? Answer

  22. HP2 $1000 Evaporation of water from plant leaves is called this. Answer

  23. HP3 $200 The boiling point of water. Answer

  24. HP3 $400 This is the main route for atmospheric water to Earth’s surface in the water cycle. Answer

  25. HP3 $600 This process changes atmospheric water vapor into liquid water. Answer

  40. Answer Adhesion HP1 $400

  41. Answer Expansion during solidification HP1 $600

  42. Answer Hydrogen bonds or polarity Explanation: The polarity of water caused by the unequal sharing of electrons causes water molecules to form hydrogen bonds with each other and/or other water molecules. One water molecule can form four hydrogen bonds. One hydrogen bond is weak but many hydrogen bonds are strong. Water is highly cohesive and adhesive as it takes a lot of energy/force to overcome the combined force of many hydrogen bonds. HP1 $800

  43. Answer The unequal sharing of electrons which creates sides with opposite charges in the molecule. Explanation: The oxygen atom in a water molecule exerts a larger force on the shared electrons in the water molecule. The unequal sharing of electrons creates a partial negative charge in the oxygen atom and partial positive charges in the hydrogen atoms. The water molecule as a whole is neutral though. A water molecule is polar due to the unequal sharing which create sides with opposite charges in the molecule. HP1 $1000
