One God, Allah, and Mohammad is His Messenger • First Pillar of Islam "I believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, in the Day of Judgment, and that Fate good and bad is given by Allah, and the life after death."
Muslims Must Proclaim these 1. Allah is ONE 2. He alone is worthy of worship and none besides Him is worthy of worship 3. He has no PARTNER 4. Nothing is hidden from Him, He even knows the thoughts that go into a person's mind 5. He is the most POWERFUL 6. He has created the earth, the skies, the sun, the moon, the stars, the angel, human beings and the whole universe 7. He gives life and death8. He gives sustenance to all creation 9. He does not eat, drink or sleep
continued 10. He is forever and will be forever 11. He was not created by anyone 12. He does not have any parents, wife or children 13. He does not depend on anybody. All depend on Him 14. Nobody resembles Allah, and He resembles none 15. He is pure from all faults 16. He does not have eyes, nose or a body like that of human beings 17. We should therefore PRAY to HIM for all our requirements

Zakaat • Third pillar of Islam • Monetary Devotion • Alms for the poor • Giving to charity • Complex rules & tables & conversions • Typically, 2.5%, No Zakaat if < 30 animals
ZAKAAT 1. Gaining of the pleasure of Allah 2. Increase in wealth3. Protection from losses 4. A cause for Allah's forgiveness and blessings 5. Safety from calamities6. Protection from the wrath of Allah and from a bad death 7. The Zakaat will provide a shelter on the Day of Judgment 8. Security from seventy misfortunes 9. It will serve as a shield from the fires of Jahannam10. It contributes to Barkat in wealth 11. It saves from fear and grief
Fasting in Month of Ramadan (Saum) • Fourth Pillar of Islam • Early dawn to sunset • many physical, moral, and social benefits • Allah has made fasting compulsory so Muslims become pious, God-fearing and God-conscious • No eating, drinking, cohabitation
Pilgrimage (Hajj) • Fifth Pillar of Islam (must be Muslim) • To Mecca and Medina • The Ka’bah • Ritual slaughter of an animal • Mass event • Prayer • Walking in footsteps • At least once in one’s lifetime
The Holy Books“kitab” = book • Revealed to the Prophet Mohammad • Over a period of 23 years • Muslims believe it is the Final Book of Allah • 1. TOURAAT 2. ZABOOR 3. INJEEL 4. QURAN

Judgment Day for Christians • Mirrors the Old Testament, namely, Tribulation, Prophet Daniel • New Testament, Jesus refers to this as the "Great Tribulation", "Affliction", and "days of vengeance” • We know not the day nor the hour (signs?) • Rapture? Armageddon? Apocalypse? • Good and evil
