  1. IBM 5719 10 Gigabit Ethernet-LR PCI-X Adapter IBM 10 Gigabit Ethernet LR PCI X Adapter. It is server based connection over a maximum distance 10 km. It’s IEEE standard 802.3

  2. What is Ethernet Ethernet is most widely used LAN technology. Specified in by IEEE 802.3. It was originally developed by Xerox corporation. It basically used coaxial cable or twisted pair. First Ethernet 100 BASE-T provides transmission speeds up to 100 mbps.

  3. PCI X Gigabit Ethernet PCI X stands for PCI-eXtended it is a computer bus and expansion card for the 32 bit. It is double wide version PCI running up to four times clock speed. IBM HP and Compaq jointly developed this PCI X in the 1998. In the master slave architecture when master issue request it disconnect from PCI bus for other agent use it. Embedded application frequently used real time processing using PCI X.

It support full line rate in all ports. In the high transaction environment requiring smaller packet it is ideal for that.

  9. Microsoft VMQ support VMQ are virtual machine queue. It is hardware virtualization technology for different network traffic like TCP/IP. It transfer all incoming and outgoing frames those stored in a buffer memory. Using virtualized server technology it improves it’s performance.

  11. Support precision time protocol PTP used for synchronization of clock throughout computer networks. In the LAN it achieves clock frequency in the microsecond range. Using PTP it achieves greater speed and synchronization time in the network.
