  1. When you’re looking for impedance matching, stepping up operations, or stepping them down in audio applications, an audio transformer is what you need, which transmits and modifies input electromagnetic signals into output signals via inductive coupling. How do audio transformers work? Audio transformers comprise of copper wire windings around a steel or nickel- iron core. Steel is used for lower frequency transfer due to its high degree of hysteresis, while nickel is used for higher frequencies because of its high permeability. The windings around the core determine the increase, decrease, or maintained impedance level, as the signal passes through the transformer. It is the number of turns on each winding that determines whether the transformer provides a gain or loss of signal. More turns on the input winding means a decrease in signal, while more turns on the output winding means an increase. The difference between these input and output signals is what is known as impedance ratio, which is different for different kinds of audio equipment like amplifiers, loudspeakers, microphones, and recording equipment. Although an audio transformer does not have a physical connection between its primary and secondary coils, it provides a bi-directional feature between the two windings. The primary can be used as secondary, and vice versa. Such transformers can thus

  2. provide signal loss in one direction, and signal gain in the reverse; or the other way round. What purposes do audio transformers serve? Audio transformers are basically used for impedance matching, which is determined by the efficiency of conversion from voltage into magnetic flux. The input and output impedance levels are match to create efficient power transfer without distortion or signal overload. In this way, the signal is balanced for an optimal energy transfer. Audio transformers generally work at frequencies between 20 Hz and 20 kHz in audio amplifier circuits, essential in valve or tube designs for matching the high impedance outputs of amplifiers to low impedance loudspeakers; thus allowing maximum power to be transferred from the amplifier to the speaker. Audio transformers allow the AC audio signals to reach the loudspeaker while preventing any DC from the amplifier to affect the operation of the loudspeaker. This isolated external connection thus improves safety. What do you need audio transformers for? Is it for internal communication systems, loudspeakers, or recording studios? Whatever your requirement may be, choosing genuine quality audio transformers can prove to be the perfect equipment for your application. You may choose from standard available audio transformers, or have your transformers perfectly customized to your needs from Miracle Electronics, a reliable and trusted name in the group of audio transformer manufacturers in India. Here, you’ll get uncompromised audio performance without any disturbance, because of the strategic engineering that benefits circuit performance by transforming circuit impedances to optimize noise performance. The transformers match the impedance of the loudspeakers to the optimum load of the tube or transistor, which makes the impedance presented to the primary winding equal to the load of the output stage active element. Miracle Electronics’ audio transformers are RoHS and REACH compliant, and have very low leakage inductance, which maintains a high-frequency bandwidth with capacitive loads.
