Safety Precautions to Remember When Donating Online

The world has its quirks. There are many who live in underserved communities, in inhumane conditions not suited for anyone with no food, medication, education, clothing, or cleanliness. On the other end of the spectrum are those who have the privilege to have enough to be able to spare some resources for the other half of the society. The good news in this bleak outlook of the world is the existence of non-profit NGOs that work very hard to deliver these opportunities to the underserved communities by augmenting efforts made by government agencies.

There are many who live in underserved communities, in inhumane conditions not suited for anyone with no food, medication, education, clothing, or cleanliness. On the other end of the spectrum are those who have the privilege to have enough to be able to spare some resources for the other half of the society. The good news in this bleak outlook of the world is the existence of non- profit NGOs that work very hard to deliver these opportunities to the underserved communities by augmenting efforts made by government agencies. 107, Hastsal Rd, Vikash Nagar JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110059

The world consists of people living under different circumstances. Some are privileged while others struggle to make ends meet and fight for rights as basic as food, medication, clothing and education. The good news here is, there are many organizations that strive hard to make the lives of such people a little less of difficulties and hardships. Some organizations like Protsahan are doing exceptional work in fighting child sexual abuse, in girl child education using art and creativity and in our experience given me most happiness for my donations. I have had the chance to volunteer my time too during my college days at Protsahan. There are several others, but do your homework well before making online donations. 107, Hastsal Rd, Vikash Nagar JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110059

However, care must be taken when making online donations to ensure people benefit from it, and you receive the tax exemptions for your online donations as well. 1.Give to Credible NGOs: You should make online donations to genuine and credible organizations. Make sure you do a thorough check up of whether they have active relevant social media presence and normal audience is commenting on their work, their google reviews etc. It’s your hard earned money, you might as well make sure it goes to the right cause out there. 2.Check for correct SSL encryption:Make sure the URL of the website you’re donating to, starts with https:// and not simply http:// in their website domain address. Do not engage with spam solicitations. 3.Check the Need at the NGO and then Donate Online: Do some basic research and drop an email at the given email address on the website and wait for a response. You could also ask the charity what is their most pressing need for which they need to raise funds. Do not judge a charity just because they don’t have a 100-people strong team. If they did, they might not even need your donation in the first place, isn’t it? Give it to projects that really are impactful, even if for one child, one meal, but give it where your money will have impact value, happiness value. 4.Donor’s Ego v/s Receiver’s Dignity: Be cautious if an organization indulges in too much massaging of donor’s ego. Be more empathetic towards the cause it 107, Hastsal Rd, Vikash Nagar JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110059

Make sure you donate online to an NGO that respects the receiver's dignity more than the donor’s ego. 5.Privacy Policy Checks:Check for the privacy policy on the website you’re donating online to. Make sure the website is not installing irrelevant cookies or software on your computer. The organizations who believe in and understand the importance of equality and dignity of each individual are the most genuine ones. Social workers are given a responsibility to help families, individuals, different communities and groups by providing appropriate services and aid that contributes to social planning. Their work includes community work, group work, policy development, interpersonal practice, social action, social development, supervisory and managerial functions, research and social work education. 107, Hastsal Rd, Vikash Nagar JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110059

  5. E-mail-Info@Protshan.co.in Phone no:(+91) 954- 078- 1011 However, running an NGO or a charity in India requires regular contributions from those who are focussed on meeting the human needs and believe in the development of human potential. There is never a perfect or appropriate time to contribute as there are always people in need of some kind of help. It can be in the form of money, clothes, food items, books, medicines and many more. These NGOs understand that every individual deserves the dignity and they are driven by missions that will touch your heart for sure. You pick an organization whose mission and vision makes most sense for you. But definitely choose to give back to the society. 107, Hastsal Rd, Vikash Nagar JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Delhi 110059
