Living Belief Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithfulin Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3
Saints- living not dead Faithful- full of faith making a saint Grace- unmerited favor from God Peace- soul satisfaction with God, of God, from God Blessed- [eulogy] declaration of goodness
4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love5 he predestined usfor adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
The Bank of Blessings • the light of the gospel -grace • the influences of the Spirit of God -peace • the pardon of sin -pardon • adoption into God’s family -protection • sanctification of our nature -purpose • eternal life -permanence
Blessed because of God through Christ. . . I AM Chosen & Predestined – in LOVE - elected by God’s Sovereign will for the purposes of God because of love and freedom is designed for the chosen.
Holy & Blameless – whether in this life, or in the life eternal, or in both, this is our intended spiritual standing before God. Mt. 5:48, Eph. 4:23; Col. 3:12; 1 Thess. 5:23; 1 Peter 1:15-16;1 John 3:6, 9 Holy & Blameless– position before God Without SPOT – because of Christ
Adopted – 2 aspects • a change in the state of will, character, nature, a new birth; and, • a divinely legal institution into family position and privilege. Rom. 8:15,23;9:4; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5
Applications • God’s choosing me is known by my desire to know and experience Him more. • It is the Work of Christ – (His Life and Death) where God reveals His purpose of my Holiness and His will to give me the inheritance of being His child.
