Have you ever heard of the planet Jupiter? Well, I have and it’s a lot bigger than Earth. People say good things about this planet. When I heard about this, I said, “I’m going to do some research on it.” Let me tell you some things about Jupiter.
Jupiter is the fifth planet in the solar system. Jupiter has a Big Red Spot on its middle right side. The average distance from the sun of Jupiter is 778.3 days. It takes 4,333 days for Jupiter to orbit the sun. The length of Jupiter’s day is 9 hours and 56 minutes.
Jupiter is larger than Earth. It’s larger than any planet in the the Milky Way solar system. Jupiter’s diameter is 142,800 km(kilometers). Some say you could fit all of our planets together to get close to how big Jupiter is!
Jupiter is an outer planet. That means it’s not even near the sun. Jupiter’s planetary distance is 5.2 AU (Astronomical Unit) from the sun. Now that’s a long distance away!
So now you see why I think that Jupiter is so special. It’s because it’s the biggest planet in our solar system. It also has some interesting features, like the big red storm.
