  5. 4. Where is the Bay of Pigs, what happened there? vs. Cuba, Kennedy tried to overthrow Castro

  6. 5. Who decides to secretly help Cuba build up their military? Soviet Union

  7. As members of the executive committee decide what to do during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Today's Goals

  8. Ex-Com members Here are your responsibilities as ex-com members • Answer questions about each briefing on a separate sheet of paper. • You will have 5 minutes to read and answer each assignment.

  9. Read your briefing and answer two questions on your committee sheet after Briefing A. Should the President be concerned about the missiles? And what are possible actions the President can take?

  10. Read your briefing and rank the 5 choices at the end starting with the one the President should do first and going down from there. For each choice write one positive and one negative consequence of the choice.

  11. Read your briefing and answer what the President should do for each one of the choices that are listed in the briefing.

  12. Ex-Com members Your final assignment is to choose one of the 4 choices from Briefing C that could have happened. Then predict what would have happened in the rest of the Cold War if it had happened. • Choose a choice from Briefing C that could have happened. • Write what you think would have happened if the choice had happened. • Write at least a paragraph.
