Status Status • Status is the Groundwork primary Graphical User Interface (GUI) • It consists of JBossportlets which allow the user to navigate pages of status information • These portlets are interactive so the user can act on objects in the portlets • Status supports drill down, so the user can get to more detailed information • Status uses Server Side Push technology for increased performance and scalability
Status Server Side Push • Server Push technology was developed initially at icefaces.org. Groundwork uses icefaces. • The server holds a representation of the page being viewed (the DOM). • In a Push configuration the browser maintains an open HTTP request to the server • When data behind that page changes the server pushes out incremental updates • The browser updates only those objects that changed without reloading the entire page • The browser opens a new HTTP request until the next change is sent Server 1.
