  2. What does Judo mean ?? • Judo means “The Gentle Way.”

  3. How is Judo Played? • Judo is played on a square mat, with judges on two corners of the mat. • There is a referee in the middle of the mat, with players on his/her sides. • On the sides of the mat, other contestants wait to play.

  4. What is The Object of Judo?? • The object of judo is to get the other person’s back fully on the ground.

  5. All about Sumo wrestling!! • 2 giant men in only loincloths come out and wrestle in a ring with a rubber floor. • If one of says “Come On” (Hakkiyo) you have to pay attention. • If someone says “I Give Up” (Mattita) the other person wins.

  6. FUN FACTS! • Sumo Wrestlers take naps to get larger. • Sometimes, Judo uniforms look like a mix of karate and police uniforms. • Sumo wrestlers eat Chanko, Sashami, deep fried food, and Chinese food. • In 1997 Judo uniforms changed.
