  2. Anybody can get involved spreading the knowledge about chagas and other NTDs • Rising problem in the U.S. – knowledge is necessary! (especially in chagas ‘hot spots’) • Get involved by first learning about the disease • “infect” others with your knowledge! • Risk factors, preventative measures • Get active in promoting research

  3. What I Can Contribute Once a ‘buzz’ about Chagas and NTDs has been established, one might want to begin to take action. As a writing major, I feel I could write a compelling letter to the Louisiana Center of Biomedical Research Excellence and encourage others to do the same thing. With enough support, maybe COBRE could find appropriate funding for Chagas research.
