USACE OCONUS Assistance Australia New Zealand 7 man team deployed 28 Mar – 5 April Structural & demolition assessment in Christchurch, NZ Assessed over 40+ buildings for both structural safety & demolition requirements • 2 man flood risk management team deployed 13-19 March 2011 • Developed plans for airfield ops during flood event, and future planning & design considerations • Provided analysis to Queensland Reconstruction authority
USACE OCONUS Assistance Palau Thailand Three man team deployed 20-30 NOV 11 Dewatering assessment at the Don Muang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand Inspected the airport and determined the functionality of de-watering equipment. • Four man power team deployed on 20 NOV to 2 DEC 2011 • Assessed and provided recommendations for the water and waste water treatment facility and the Aimeliik Power Plant.

Snowpack peaked late, 135 to 140 % of normal , and has only just begun to runoff • Huge rain event over the past two weeks – 300-600% of normal • Reservoirs full, timing of the snowmelt runoff and reservoir releases is critical • USACE providing Advance Flood Fight Measures in ND, SD, MT, WY, NE, and numerous tribes 2011 Spring FloodingMissouri River Basin Columbia River Basin
USACE Executive Overview2011 USACE National Events Total personnel deployed to support CONUS response activities: 2490 Total FEMA mission assignments: 176 ($630 million) Total FCCE dollars: $180 million
USACE Executive Overview 2011 USACE International Events Total personnel deployed to support CONUS response activities: 18 for natural disasters , 1405 for military contingency operations. Total dollars on international response assignments: $423k (not including military contingency operations)
Where Do We Go From Here? • Critical repairs – as needed for next flood season • System Performance & Evaluation – a post-flood assessment of the overall performance of the system • Operational Assessment – restore full functionality of the system
