  3. Parasite: • An organism living with their host, using the host for energy; • use the internal/external environment of the host as a living quarters. Host: • a living organism carrying a parasite (think of when you stay at someone else's home) Talk with your lab partner: How is a parasite different from a predator??

  4. Parasites: Multi-stage life cycle: similar to a human, or insect. Multiple hosts: most parasites live in more than one creature. (primary, secondary, and intermediate host) Extreme size variance: microscopic to larger than a human. http://www.parasitecleanse.com/GALLERY.HTM

  5. Examples of common parasites: Malaria: develops and lives in the blood stream Tapeworm: live inside mammals digestive track. Lancet Liver Fluke: organism found in uncooked meat.
