  4. Impact • Jobs: • Employed workers to repair and build homes and roads • Landscape: • Improved housing and living conditions • Prevented the spread of disease (less crowded) • Accomplishments: • Cleaned up urban areas • Lowered number of slums • Slowed the spread of disease
