2013 Goals (Innovation milestones): • Keep our key goals ‘Support, Promote, Connect, Empower’ to encourage innovation from the ground up. Keep the events that have worked well and develop further • Develop ODI-principled 4.0 frameworkSteps which innovators use to take them through the validation stages of their project. Use framework as a tool to support all innovation, from short-term operational improvements to bigger projects which require senior management buy-in and investment (Business case) • Review the Innovation Program and move towards an Ideas Hub
Methods (Innovation tools): • The Six Sigma approach: Encourage and promote it • as a general way of thinking • throughout all of the department • Principles at the forefront when pursuing an idea/project. (Workshops). • Wing to wing - know what your sister organisation is doing • Bullet train think – know where you are ultimately going • Fast cycle experimental – fail forward and learn • Eliminate complexity – simple is better • Communicate for impact – communicate effectively about innovation • Define key measures for the Innovation program • Review our communication strategy - how do we reach and inform better.
