Summary of Recent Activities • ISACC IPv6 Task Group Report, March 2010: • Recommendations to Government and Industry to encourage deployment of IPv6 • ISACC experience in IPv6 deployment: • ISACC website (www.isacc.ca) was transitioned to dual-stack for World IPv6 Day on June 8, 2011 • GSC16 website (www.gsc16.ca) has been dual-stacked from its launch in July 2011

  3. World IPv6 Day Lessons Learned • IPv6 roll-out requires planning and testing • Best practices and lessons learned should be shared with the community • Additional IPv6 days would be helpful • More participation by IPv6 users would improve testing

  4. Strategic Direction • Promote the deployment of IPv6 for all new initiatives in Canada: • For example: Smart Grid, M2M, etc. • Promote information sharing and best practices to help ensure a smooth transition of networks and services from IPv4 to IPv6

  5. Next Steps / Actions • ISACC will continue to promote the adoption of IPv6 for networks and services in Canada • ISACC encourages other GSC PSOs to transition their own websites to IPv6
