NAEP 2009 Science Administration • Administered January through March 2009 • 156,500 fourth-graders • 151,100 eighth-graders • 11,100 twelfth-graders • For Tennessee State-Level Reports • 2,900 fourth-graders assessed • 3,000 eighth-graders assessed • Performance reported as • Average scale scores (0–300 scale) • Achievement levels (3 cut scores and descriptions) • Grade 4: Basic (131), Proficient (167), Advanced (224) • Grade 8: Basic (141), Proficient (170), Advanced (215)
