Purpose of Homework ... • Homework provides children with opportunities to practice and improve their skills. • Homework teaches children how to begin a task on their own, stay with the task, complete it, and be responsible for the outcome. • Responsibility, self-discipline, independence, perseverance, and time management

  15. Child’s Job ... • Keep track of books & assignments – be prepared • Stay focused & allow reasonable amount of time to complete work • Do his/her own work with only limited assistance • Turn all work in on time • Accept responsibility for grades
