  1. AGENDA • TEAMWORK: “The TEAM is held accountable for your actions! • Signed Documents: Missing Doc’s…No “Hands-On”! (Names will be read during classwork) • Tech Manual: Inspection…Thursday (up to UNIT – 2A w/HW and ALL signatures) • Tutoring: Wednesday@2:30pm • DO NOW: “Real-World Service” • UNIT – 2B: PPT/Lesson

  2. DO NOW… “Real-Word Service”CCLS: SL.11-12.1, RST.11-12.6 • CUSTOMER (History teacher): Hi, I’m trying to show this history DVD to my class but it will not play at all! -.- smh!!! …is my computer damaged? • A+ Tech: Wow, ok…I would be more than happy to take a look at your computer problem. • How would you begin to troubleshoot? What could possibly be the diagnosis to the customer’s issue?

  3. Resolution after A+ Technician’s diagnosis • Visual inspection was done (no damage to or strange noise from the CD/DVD drive, ) • No damage/finger-prints or scratches to the DVD disc • The label on the DVD (in fine print), clearly states the program requires; 512MB of RAM, a Pentium III processor, 5GB free HDD space and “Windows 95-98SE”…Ummmmm…the customer is running Windows 7.

  4. Is there something that can be done to satisfy the customer’s needs? (Time & Data are concerns) • Uninstalling windows 7 to install windows 98SE is not an option • Dual-boot windows 7 with windows 98SE…is not an option at this point • What now!??? • Install windows 98SE as a Virtual OS !!! • The customer can now show the DVD anytime in the future. They’re happy…You look like a genius to the customer…and it’s time to get “Cheeez!” $$

  5. What is the Aim for UNIT-2B? • What is the process to install a virtual operating system using a functional PC as the host?
