  1. A Visual Guide to Calculating MTBS Fire Probabilities and MCM file for use in VDDT Models (post-Mike Polly processing)

  2. Crosswalks between PVT Groups, MTBS Fire Severity Classes and VDDT Fire Severity Groups

  3. Setup for the “Summary” Sheet Note: Exclude the “No PVT” group from this and recalculate “total acres” as only the sum of PVT groups used in the fire analysis

  4. Crosswalk values (acres burned) from MTBS Severity Classes to VDDT Severity Classes

  5. Calculating annual fire probabilities from “acres burned”

  6. For each of the 4 rows (Low, Mixed, High and Total), perform the steps shown in this slide

  7. For each PVT within a PVT group, Use the Annual Proportion from the “total” row, to assign fire probabilities to all wildfire types (NonLethal, Mixed, HighSeverity) (i.e. individual probabilities by burn type are not currently being used to separately specify the values for each wildfire type)
