  2. What is it? • Simply put Steganography is the act of embedding either a picture or message in another picture or message. • The word itself means covered writing

  3. What can it be used for • Steganography can be used to secretly send messages to other people • It is often used when encryption is not permitted but it is also used to supplement encryption codes.

  4. Are there different types Yes there are • There are six specific types of coding • LSB • DCT encoding • Spread Spectrum • Phase coding • Tone Insertion Echo Data Hiding

  5. Where the types can be used • DCT encoding only works on pictures • Phase coding, tone Insertion, and Echo Data Hiding only work on audio files • LSB and spread Spectrum work on both however LSB causes the Audio files to have extra sound.

  6. What kinds of programs are out there • There are thousands of programs out there to aid you in Steganography • Some programs are • QuickStego • TrueCrypt • AxCrypt • OpenPuff • OurSecret
