Philosophy of Teaching All students can learn High expectations Learning is work Effort = success Students must take responsibility for their learning Use what you know to figure out what you don’t know No limit to what you can achieve I have the right to teach Students have the right to learn We do not infringe on each others rights Attitude is everything

  8. Rules Be in your seat , ready to work when the bell rings Ready to work……have your supplies out, ready to use, when the bell rings. Once the lesson has started, do not interrupt instruction asking for paper, pen…..etc. Questions/comments-raise your hand and wait to be called on. Be respectful to everyone- All the time Do not get out of your seat during direct instruction Group work-everyone participates and does their share of the work. Talk quietly-accountable talk. Individual work….do your own work. Need help…. Raise your hand and I will help you asap. Do not just call out your question. Always try your best

  9. Procedures Go to the restroom/water before you come to class. If you are tardy, sign the tardy log before you sit down. Do not interrupt class. Only one student at a time may leave the class. You must sign the Pass log before you leave. Do not interrupt direct instruction to ask for the pass. Begin work on the bell ringer when the tardy bell rings-I will be checking attendance. On the days that homework and bell ringers are due…..take them out at the beginning of class. All Social Studies materials should be kept in your social studies folder.

  10. Procedures Bell ringers will be taken up every Friday Go over the bell ringer Direct instruction Class work Homework-taken up at the beginning of class. If not turned in then-late. Late and make up work is taken up at this time also. Dismissal-by the teacher, by groups or rows

  11. Grading Policy 60% Daily grades 40% Tests Late work -1day -minus 30 pts. (70) 2 days-minus 40 pts (60) 3rd day-zero Zero/low grade assignment given 3rd and 5th week of the six weeks. May make up 2 zeros a six weeks Failed a test???? May re-test before or after school Tutoring: before school (7:30) : Mon.-Wed.; Fri. After school (4:00) : Tue, Thur.

  12. HomeworkTests Homework is always due the next day, unless told otherwise Test are given at the end of every chapter/unit Paper Heading-upper right hand corner First and last name Teacher-period Date
