  2. derAktvs Act The German word • “Akt” does not mean the same thing as the English word • “Act”. The ONLY time they mean the same thing is when you use the word to refer to a stage work!!! AKT means nude model (paintings and scluptures) and legal document. Akten- are official files Aktien- stocks and shares Aktion- activity or drive

  3. Die Aktuell This word means up-to-date or timely, • not actual. nichtmehraktuellsein- to be out of date actual

  4. Die Allee (f.) This is not alley (Gasse) but • an avenue or boulevard

  5. also Not also but thus or therefore ALSO english Also: thus or therefore GERMAN

  6. Der Anger Means meadow not • anger Ichseheeineschöne Anger. – I see a beautiful meadow.

  7. Die Art This word does not mean art but manner, way, type

  8. Der Artist Not artist but circus or nightclub performer

  9. Das Asyl Not used for a lunatic asylum (irrenanstalt). It means sanctuary or refuge

  10. ausnehmen Means to take out only in the sense of to exempt or to eviscerate exempt

  11. Das Bad This word means bath • not bad (bose, schlecht)

  12. bald This means soon. The english word bald, is kahl in german.

  13. Die Beere This means berry, • not beer.
