  3. II. Eastern Indians A. Southeastern groups included the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Cherokee 1. Farmers (women) 2. Built permanent villages around a square 3. Hunted (men) most clothing was buckskin

  4. B. The Northeast had two main groups; Algonquin and Iroquoian 1. Algonquin lived in wigwams, the Iroquois lived in longhouses

  5. 2. Iroquois League was made up of Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga and Seneca a. women played an important role b. the league inspired Ben Franklin to unite the colonies
