  3. R and D Tax Credits • We have been working with Darren Glover for over 3 years • In that time we have submitted a number of successful claims • 2008-2009 - £190,000 • 09-10 - £53,000 • 10-11 – still in progress

  4. What is a claimable project? • A claimable project must be unique and cutting edge • Project where something is being patented • Rain water harvesting was not accepted not cutting edge • Website development and online marketing not unique enough

  5. Reinvesting • Monies reclaimed have been ring fenced for investment and development opportunities • A retrofitted conveyor system has recently been patented. This allows us to continually scrape dross and profile put from a cutting bed without the need to stop production • Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

  6. KTPs • Two so far, one from BCU one from University of Wolverhampton • BCU KTP was aimed at the development of the sales database and improvement of IT • The UoW KTP was aimed at the development of the groups marketing

  7. Benefits of KTPs • In addition to the graduates there are other significant benefits • Access to university resources such as research • Access to students at the university • Access to academics within the University
