  4. Program purpose Little oak middle school is committed to teaching citizenship and modeling respect and ethical behavior to help students become productive, responsible members of society.

  5. Positive intervention support teampurpose • To facilitate positive behavior changes in students. • To reduce the number of inappropriate behaviors by educating teachers, staff, and students. • To reinforce appropriate behaviors. • Team meetings are held after school on the first Monday of each month in room 207. • Pbis ambassadors will meet monthly and/or as needs arise. • All faculty members are invited and encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.

  7. Pbis rewards CLASSROOM REWARDS Each teacher will refer to the grade level “Cash-In Poster” for the reward system, so that students can benefit from their “Golden Acorns”. Cash-Ins will take place during Morning Meeting every Friday. SCHOOL-WIDE REWARDS • “Golden Acorn” – Faculty and staff members recognize students who consistently exhibit appropriate behavior. When a student receives a faculty initialed “Golden Acorn” ticket, he/she can trade the tickets for weekly classroom incentives, as well the quarterly Acorn Bash! • “Oak Tree Dollar” – Faculty and staff members recognize classes that exhibit appropriate behavior. These classes are given “Oak Tree Dollars”. Classes may earn up to 3 Oak Tree Dollars at a time. At the end of each month, teachers will turn in the number of dollars earned to Mrs. Guttuso via e-mail. The classes having the highest number of dollars will enjoy a pizza party! • “Friday Fun Night” – This is an activity for students who do not have any administrative behavior reports. This may include excessive tardies/absences and/or excessive fines/fees. This event is sponsored by our PTA! • The “A”Team– At the end of the first three 9 week grading periods, students who have all A’s will be recognized with a special activity during lunch!

  8. Golden acorns Given to individual students for meeting school expectations. Every Friday during Morning Meeting students can cash them in for prizes! Each grade level has their own list of available prizes! Each teacher will receive a “Cash-In Poster” for his/her classroom! 50 Acorns- every 9 weeks “Acorn Bash”Teachers will collect 50 acorns from the students and turn in a list of students to the designated PBiS representative. Teachers are responsible to work one Acorn Bash per year. You will receive an email from the PBiS rep with the schedule.

  12. Oak tree dollars • Rewards an entire class! • Given by: ANYONE and EVERYONE! Homeroom teachers may not distribute to their homeroom class. However, homeroom teachers may give Oak Tree Dollars to their switch class(es)! • The classes earning the most Oak Tree Dollars at the end of the month will enjoy a pizza party! This reward is sponsored by our PTA! • End of 1st semester-DECEMBER-20,000 Oak Tree Dollars collected school wide, all students will enjoy an extended recess.End of year-MAY (50,000 collected school wide) – Movie with snack! Students will vote on a movie selection! PBiS Ambassadors will be in charge of the poll! • School-Wide Visual will be posted in the cafeteria. This will be updated monthly by PBiS Team!

Student of the month • A “Student of the Month” will be selected from each homeroom class every month, beginning with August. • Each teacher will select a student who has followed all of the LOM expectations and he/she will email the student’s name to Mrs. Guttuso when requested. The teacher will fill out the certificate that will be in your mailbox that month. • Administration will read the names over the intercom on the last Friday of the month during Morning Meeting. Each teacher will read the certificate aloud to the class and then the student will go up to front office with his/her certificate. Each student will receive a restaurant coupon and a special treat from administration! The student will put his/her certificate on the bulletin board. • Each month, we will take a picture of the Student of the Month recipients and post it to our website.
