When you learn to ride a bike you can fall off, and it can be the same when you start to engage with CPD 2
Learning outcomes By the end of this session participants should be able to: • describe the 3 different models explained in the session • use one of the models to help them reflect on their practice and identify learning/development needs • transfer their learning needs onto the reflection stage of a CPD entry 3
So where do I start? Many of us reflect on a daily basis without realising it: • You may talk over a difficult situation with a friend • You may think over the day’s events on the way home • You may informally discuss a work situation with colleagues • During your Personal Development Review, you look back at your performance in the past year, and plan your development needs for the next year 4
Practice activity • Work through one of the models yourself • Transfer your learning needs onto the reflection stage of a CPD entry 8
