Legal acts that regulate the innovation in education: School Evaluation in the Polish Education Legal acts that regulate the school evaluation: • The School Education Act of 7 September 1991 (with furtheramendments) • Regulation of the Minister of Education and Sport of 7 October 2009 concerning the pedagogical supervision

  4. EVALUATION EVALUATION is a kind of applied (practical) social research.EVALUATION is neither control nor assessment.

  9. Requirements have been formulated in four areas of schools activity: 1. Effects of teaching, upbringing and care as well as other school's statutoryactivities 2. Processes taking place in the school 3. Functioning of school in the localcommunity, in particular in terms of cooperationwithparents 4. School management External evaluation

Procedures: Informtheschool - one monthbeforetheplannedevaluation Meetingwiththepedagogicalcouncil, familiarizingwiththescope and timetable for evaluation Conductingtheevaluationactivities- no longerthan 5 workingdays Presenttheresults and conclusions on themeetingwiththepedagogicalcouncil - 7 daysaftercompletiontheevaluationactivitiesatschool Developed a report – no laterthan 7 daysafter , transmission of the report to theschool and to thelocal authority Publication of the report on theinternet Externalevaluation

External evaluation is aiming at the assessment of meeting therequirements in relation to five following levels: Level A – very high level of meeting requirements by the school Level B – high level of meeting requirements by the school Level C – average level of meeting requirements by the school Level D – basic level of meeting requirements by the school Level E – low level of meeting requirements by the school.

  14. Report points out the levels ofmeeting of all relevant requirements. Report does not include one single assessment of schoolperformance but the assessment of meeting of each evaluation requirement separately. External evaluation

  15. If meeting of requirements from outside the "effects" area is assessed to be at the E level, theschool is obliged to implement actions aiming at the improvement in the given area. External evaluation
