  2. A Sphere • A round solid figure, with every point on its surface equidistant from its center. The Earth was once thought to be flat. People thought that if you sailed too far, you would fall off the edge of the Earth

  3. Rotation • Spinning around an axis. It takes the Earth 23 hours, 56 minutes to rotate around it’s axis.

  4. Revolution • The time it takes for an object to complete one orbit around an object. It takes the Earth 365days,6 hours and 9 minutes to complete one lap.

  5. Magnetic Field • The Earth’s core is molten Iron. It conducts a magnetic field like that of a bar magenet.

  6. Tilted • The Earth is tilted The Earth is tilted at 23.5 degrees

  7. Seasons • The hemisphere closet to the sun is warmer and experiences summer • The hemisphere farthest from the sun is cooler and experiences winter

  8. Solstice • Summer solstice is the longest day of the year. • The most daylight • Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. • The most night

  9. Equinox • When the sun passes the equator and we have equal day and night.
