About Step Up Foundation • Started in 22 July 2010. • A non-profit organization (MH 1479/2010/Pune) • Working for children & women empowerment Objectives: • Education for all • To facilitate educational, psychological and social development of children • To provide vocational training for woman • To create health awareness in women
Ongoing Projects • Diksha Prakalpa (Child and women education program) • Focus is on developing reading and writing skills in children (support class for 1st to 4th std) • Focus is on creating interest in studies by teaching subjects in easy and practical methods (support class for 5th to 10th std) • Workshops are conducted to spread education awareness • Conducted in Chunabhatti Slum(sinhgad rd) & Ranjhe village.
Ongoing Projects(cont) • Children are made to think and feel with the help of fun activities, story telling and hands on experience. • Class is conducted everyday for 2 hours for boys and girls each. • Focus is also given on reading and writing of Marathi and English languages and maths. • Formal Education Sponsorship is provided. • Sponsored education for 20 students (For 2012). TOTAL=78
Ongoing Projects (Cont.) • Life Skills Education Program • This program was sucessfully conducted in N.M.V girls high school and Gopal high school. • Shishan Mandal has given permission to StepUp foundation to give Life Skill Education in 5 PMC schools • Target is to spread life skills education to 1500 students in 5 PMC schools. • Make children not only school smart but also street smart. • Children are exposed to basic ideas of social intelligence.

Ongoing Projects (Cont.) • Vocational training & health awareness for women . • Conducted in Chunabhatti Slum(sinhgad rd) & Ranjhe village. • Vocational training is given to women who are need of some stable income. • They are trained according to their skills and capacities and are being provided alternative choice of income. • This in turn helps in developing their self-esteem. • Malnourishment is the main problem in lower socio economic class • Women are taught importance of regular and healthy diet • Regular health check-up camps are arranged
Training programs conducted in 2010-13 • Rangoli making • Basic Tailoring class for one month (for women in Ranjhe village) • Spices making workshop (1 day) • Barfi making workshop
Special Programs • For children: • 26th Jan2011: Drawing competition was held on the occasion of Republic day. • Origami workshop was arranged for children. • Envelope making. • Warli painting. • Movie shows for children • Creativity workshop • Diwali melawa- panati painting & akashkandil making • Anchoring workshop (2012-13) • KBC game for children (2012-13) • Trip to Aakar potteries, Kokan (2012-13) • Visit to Tarangan, New English school (2012-13)
Other Activities (cont.) • For women: • Tilgul samarambha-Sankrant celebration • Rangoli making workshop • Trip to Ketkawala (Balaji temple) • Charity Show: • “Ayushyawar bolu kahi” • A well known musical show by Dr. Saleel Kulkarni and Sandip Khare.
Future Plans • Continue & Improvise current projects. • Increase education sponsorships for children • Provide nutrition supplements to children for their physical development. • Help women to start small scale business
