sTGC dead zones? • New 3D models and drawings have been provided • Updated on the 21 of July 2013 • Thanks to George and Benny! • Modifications • The outer radius of the first module is increased of 10mm • The clearance between first and second modules is reduced from 10 to 4mm • The outer radius of the second module is increased of 4mm • The clearance between second and third module is reduced from 10 to 6mm • Dead zones between modules • Between first and second modules DZ1=35mm (20+4+11) • Between second and third modules DZ2=37mm (20+6+11) sTGC design is still in progress and a new version with light modifications will arrive on tomorrow (to adjust the shape of the boards) CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
sTGC - New dimensions? • New dimensions on drawing for large sectors + 10mm, but clearances have been decreased from 10 to 4mm and to 6mm CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
sTGC - New dimensions? • New dimensions on drawing for small sectors + 10mm, but clearances have been decreased from 10 to 4mm and to 6mm CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
Radial overlaps with 2 MM modules? • Large sector: The option 5-3 for PCBs has been chosen during the Roma meeting (MMM workshop on the 15-16th of July) • Dimensions have been adjusted to have 5mm clearance between the 2 modules 2220 1410 2042 Option 5-3 2310 660 CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
Radial overlaps with 2 MM modules? • Small sector: The option 5-3 for PCBs is the safer option • The X dimension can be adjusted from 1280 to 1400mm, X<=1300mm proposed by INFN to better match present construction facilities 1780 Option 6-2 too closed to sTGC dead zone 1350 X Option 5-3 is the safer option Option 4-4 too closed to sTGC dead zone 2210 460 CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
Radial overlaps with 2 MM modulesoption 5-3 (for PCBs) • The small and large sectors are represented on the same sketch in a vertical position Small sector Large sector sTGC MM sTGC CEA-Saclay/DSM/Irfu/SIS/LCAP - Patrick PONSOT for the scrutiny committee
