Definition of OCD: • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an anxiety disorder where people have repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something. • The person often completes to behavior to get rid of the obsessive thoughts.
Facts/ Statistics About OCD: • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is common, and most people show symptoms by age 30. • Most people with OCD realize their obsessions are irrational, but they need to relieve their anxiety so they preform the ritual • A third to a half of all people who suffer from OCD began noticing obsessive traits during childhood
Symptoms Of OCD • Fear of germs, or contamination • Having required things to be symmetrical and orderly. • Aggressive and horrific impulses. • Extreme sexual thoughts or images. • Nonsensical doubts
Tips For Managing OCD • Try to face your fears, expose yourself to situations that involve your fears and what gives you anxiety. • Get to know your OCD and monitor it. Research it. • Keep a journal and express your problems. Talk about it
