facts • founded in 1998 as a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the General Secretarial of Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Development • since March 2000, it constitutes one of the four institutes of the National Centre for Research and Technology – Hellas • set-up to constitute an advanced research centre with continuous interaction with the academic community, the National and European Informatics and Telematics Industry, the international scientific community and the public sector • initially funded by the Greek Government with a seed capital of 1,5 Million Euro for the period 1998-2001 • it has attracted total funds in the range of 2 Million Euro from National and European competitive R&D collaboration projects (2000-2001)
