Sorieul, Secretary UNCITRAL The Premoot offers a good illustration of a dual approach relying on the promotion of state-of-the art international standards in countries whose legal systems may require modernization and, at the same time, paving the way for a more inclusive and better informed contribution of those countries in the process aimed at increasing the common understanding of international trade law issues at the global level.

  8. Stefan Kröll, Lawyer The Belgrade Pre-Moot is in my view one of the best of its kind. The combination of an academic conference with experts from all over the world with the pre-moot is an excellent concept which in my view greatly contributed to the enormous success of the event. In combination with the excellent organization and the size of the Pre-Moot, it preserves some of the atmosphere of the early days of the Vienna Moot when all teams got to know each other and often formed friendships which strongly influenced the personal or professional developments.

Canafoglia, UNCITRAL The Premoot Belgrade and the meeting of regional experts, (…) has given to the UNCITRAL Secretariat the opportunity of an enhanced knowledge of the status of trade law reform in the Balkan Region. Moreover, it has raised the Secretariat awareness of the Regional interest for UNCITRAL legislative texts and the expertise already available in the Region.

  11. More than 40 students from Macedonia (FYR) were part of these premoots.  It came out to be one of the best experiences of their life.Two of the students now are members of the junior teaching staff – Vangel Dokovski and Tatjana Shterjova.

It was the best preparation we had for the vis and took our team's skill set up few levels. Better yet was the opportunity to meet students from other teams.
