  2. Coordination – FANBOYS #4 • A conjunction is a word used to connect words, phrases, or clauses. • A coordinating conjunction joins two main (independent) clauses in order to show that the ideas carry equal value in the sentence. Slide 1 of 4

  3. The most common coordinating conjunctions are: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So = FANBOYS Whenever there are two complete sentences joined by one of the “fanboys” conjunctions, insert a comma before the conjunction. Example: He wanted to become a musician, but he became a banker. Slide 2 of 4
