  1. How Cert 3 Parks And Gardens Helped Design the Perfect Park When my friend told me to enrol for a Cert 3 Parks and Gardens, I wondered why she was suggesting that, because I was intending to start small and do home gardens and such. But because she was so insistent I decided to enrol for the course and completed it too. Little did I know that her suggestion would be extremely beneficial for me, because within days of completing the course, I was offered the chance to design and execute a neighbourhood park! After studying the space, I realised that this was a park that would be used by the entire neighbourhood, which included children and the elderly. I decided to put the play area in the very middle, because this would keep the children safe at all times. The entire floor of the play area was sand – not only could the kids play in the sand, but also if they fell, they would not get badly hurt. With my added Certificate III in Landscape Construction, I was able to place benches all around the play area, making it the perfect place for parents as well as the elderly to sit and relax for a while. Since this park was also going to be used by the younger generation in the area, I decided to put a running path on the outer edge of the park. Being on the outer edge, made it the longest area and because it was away from the play area, the runners, joggers or walkers would have no problems. So, getting that additional certification allowed me to add another feather to my cap!
