Current Work and Plans • Need to figure out how to implement default sam configuration offsite • Testing 6.1.6.md • Simply setting up a different root version for 6.1.6.ml or 6.1.6.m fails • 37252 events process identically through both versions: as expected • Reading from local file or via dccp is same for 200 events (operational test) • SELinux problem solved by disabling SELinux per Fermilab standard usage • PROBLEM: new root is not self-consistent; hangs using its own library • Need new diskcache_i for new root • Test 6.1.6.md quickly and replace 6.1.6.ml (only in use in 3 places) • Combine 6.1.4mc.m and patches into 6.2.6alpha: list almost ready • Combine 6.1.4mc.m and patches into 6.2.4alpha • Test 6.2.6alpha and 6.2.4alpha against gcc 4.5.1 27 April 2011 2

3. root problems • 6.1.6.md needs the new root • v4_00_08g -q GCC_3_4_6:dcap_2_42_f0710 • If you load gSystem->Load("$ROOTSYS/lib/libDCache.so") it will hang at the prompt (unless you connected without tunneling XWindows). • Need to have an acceptance test suite for future root releases • Also hangs at the prompt when loading libdiskcache_samroot.so, which we should have thought of before • We need a new diskcache_i built with the new root 27 April 2011 3

4. Further Tests • Standard 10K test succeeded • 1M test agreed that it is not needed—no change to code base • Operational tests only need to verify a few events • Local • dcap tests, which encompass • dccp OK • ftp • gridftp • kerberized ftp • Diskpool • Open/close multiple files remotely and locally 27 April 2011 4
