The food chemistry education was reorganised in 2001 and the Department of Food Chemistry and Technology was founded in 2000. OBJECTIVES: - Prepare Skilled graduates to support the food industry, able to act in different areas like: . Production . Quality Control and Quality Management . HACCP . Research and Development . Development of New Products and Processes . Industry Management . Consulting and Education - Establish the connection between the academic, scientific and industrial realities The graduates in food chemistry normally start working in the food industry in the quality assurance department or in analytical labs, as well as governmental institutions. A five year higher diploma, after 12 undergraduate study years. The disciplines are grouped in 6 main topics: 68% Compulsory 32 % Optional distributed as: The optional disciplines can be chosen freely from a list that is only partly limited. The courses range from basic science to applied engineering as well as business courses and foreign languages. 32 percent of the hours are optional. The courses can be chosen freely from a catalogue Opportunities to go abroad: - 1 semester optional - financed by different programmes: Socrates / Erasmus, Leonardo, Tempus, Flad Industry Date: October 2001
