  2. What do you think is special about Bath?

In 1987, the City of Bath was listed as a World Heritage Site because it: • Represents a masterpiece of human creative genius; • Exhibits an important interchange of human values on developments in architecture and town planning; • Is an outstanding example of an architectural ensemble which illustrates significant stages in human history.

  4. This really means that Bath is recognised for: • The Roman remains (Roman Baths) • The town planning of the Georgian City • The quality of the architecture (Neo-Classical) – in particular the quality of some important places called set-pieces (Queen Square, The Circus and Royal Crescent)
