Communist Economy Ahlin Sungsuwan Kayla Paradis Taylor Mushero Communist economies are a type of command economy in which the government makes all economies decisions and owns every business.
How a communist economy works • The idea is that every worker contributes to the wealth, then everyone will make a fair share. All businesses and land is owned by the government. The resources are given to the factories by the government through central planning. The planners decide what needs to be made and they pass it on to the factory head. They have a quota that must be met in the day.
A German philosopher named Karl Marx came up with the idea of communism. Marxism was ignored a great deal during his lifetime. It wasn’t until his death in 1883 that it started becoming popular. Until just a while ago over half the countries were living under Marxism. Although, over time Marx’s theory have been very modified. The communist slogan is: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” History of the economy
Governments that supports a communist economy Oligarchy supports a communist command economy. Oligarchy's are governments run by small groups of people. They have all the control. The command economy allows them to control all the companies. To make sure every person is equal. They believe that everyone in the society make it runs, so therefore they are just as equal.
Countries with a Communist Economy *Cuba *China *North Korea China was once a communist economy, In 1978 they once had a one child policy but in 2010 they announced they were not going to use that policy any longer because to many citizens were breaking the policy. Also, China’s population was getting oversized and was hard for the government to control all of the people in china. China is now moving away from a Communist Economy.
*Maximizes the countries production of resources *Distributes wealth equally among people *Only products that are required are produced which prevents undesired products Advantages of Communism
Disadvantages of Communism *Having a large population can cause people not to be able to keep there goals and rules. *The government has a say on what the people have instead of what they want. *Everybody who has a job and works, they work so hard but hardly get paid anything. *A lot of the businesses are being owned and controlled by the government.
Prediction • Communism in the future most likely will not really exist anymore. Like China, they are getting more into the marketing economy. It really just isn't a proficient system for such large masses of people.
