What is the BFC Program? • Started in 1996 with simple criteria • Revised in 2002 • 4 Award levels • Platinum • Gold • Silver • Bronze • Program recognizes communities for bicycle friendliness and provides roadmap and assistance to become better.
Application Criteria Online application – 70 questions divided into Five E’s: • Engineering • Education • Encouragement • Enforcement • Evaluation & Planning
Application Review • 300+ applications • Reviewed by staff and external reviewer • Feedback from local cyclists and advocates
