802.21a Security TG • Progress • Completed Proposal Presentation II with detailed text • Identified Major Overlaps in Work Item #2 • In-band authentication and SA establishment (DCN 102) • Out-of-band authentication and SA establishment (DCN 105) • Packet level authentication w/o SA establishment (DCN 107) • Issues (to be discussed in Teleconferences) • DCN 102 needs to clarify if L2 specification needs to be changed • DCN 102 may need to specify a key distribution mechanism from MIA-KH and MSA-KH • MIH security primitives for passing MIH messages over MIH_SAP do not fit 802.21 primitive usage (DCN 105) • Primary / Secondary PoS concept needs detailed trust model and consideration for Domino effect (DCN 105) • Generating Candidate_PoA_Detected event may be unnecessary or difficult to support (DCN 103) • Packet Level Authentication needs to be defined in IETF first (DCN 107) • Next Steps • Detailed text is needed • Only revised proposals are accepted • Submission deadline for proposals: September 13th, 2009 end of day AOE
